The gallery features a photography exhibition by Asheville residents Jennifer MacDonald and Vanessa Bell, (Dis)placed: Life as a Syrian Refugee. Also on display will be the work of Ahmed al-Fadaam, an Elon University professor, artist, and Iraqi refugee as well as other refugee artists from the Carolinas.

Middle Eastern hors d’oeuvres will be served. The event is free; all donations will go to benefit Hadaya, an Asheville organization supporting the needs of displaced children worldwide.

The gallery opening is part of Love > Fear: Journey to Refuge, a multimedia event to be held at Grace Centre 6:30 p.m. Thursday, October 19, to promote awareness, service and donations for refugee care in the Carolinas.

Grace Centre, 495 Cardinal Road, is located 3 miles west of the Asheville Airport on I 280.
