Scott Rayl is a graduate of Tulane University with a degree in anthropology and studio art. He has taught both informally and at the graduate level on indigenous art and Christianity, and seeks to better understand the role of indigenous visual art in the life of the global church.

He is currently preparing to serve as an Arts Specialist with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Nigeria, West Africa, with a special emphasis on visual arts. Scott’s training in World Arts will enable him to help Nigerians deeply engage with God’s Word through art forms that make sense to them and already have an honored place in their hearts.

He sees LOVE > FEAR and its synthesis of personal stories with an arts-based approach as a wonderful opportunity to extend God’s grace and mercy to the those in need and to celebrate Divine creativity in every person.
